ADOPTION - What Your Adopted Child Would Want You to Know

Join Robert Allan Hafetz, president of Adoption Forum and founder of Pathways to Adoption, as he discusses the challenges and joys of adoption. He will address how adoptive parents can best make deep and meaningful emotional connections with their children, how children respond to adoption at different ages, what special needs adopted children have, and how parents can help their children to understand what it means to be adopted.

Join us as we explore the special challenges facing this generation of girls, and learn specific skills and techniques you can use to support your daughter as she grows.

Anyone with a difficult, high-needs child may face many challenges. How can the mental health of the family be preserved while providing the necessary structure that a challenging child needs? Tools for Effective Discipline

First Steps to Grandparenting
Grandparents have a unique relationship with their grandchildren that brings a very special warmth and love to your life and theirs. With it comes tremendous joy and sometimes unexpected questions about the kind of grandparent you want to be and how you should relate to your adult children.
Abington Memorial Hospital Family Practice physicians and staff from the Center for Parenting Education co-host this one session program focusing on baby care and other issues that new grandparents face. Pre-registration is necessary. Wednesday, November 19
